Vagrancy as a career opportunity only suits a
certain few : those three construction workers,
eating wet sandwiches, sauced in something, with
cigarettes and soda, on the curb at noon could just
as well pass for anything else : the 39th street brigade
of guys who build. Tough and strong and with so much
of a swagger the little girls squeal. Not really, instead
they pass by quickly, with their heads down. I can
tell in an instant what everyone's thinking. It's a gift.
