FREEDOM
Freedom from the known and the lash,
freedom from the know it all and the brash,
the chink in the armor, the last hungry farmer,
freedom from the banks and their cash.
-
Freedom from the big things and freedom from
the small, the clumsy, the naked, the breached
and the tall. Freedom, please, from everything
at all. Freedom from the moment when the
mighty mailman comes, bearing gifts of
burden, carrying the glum, forcing the words
in carry-out letters and the bills for what's
done. Freedom from the cook who cooks -
meals, foods a'plenty, but eats not a one.
