I CAN'T FIXATE
I can't fixate on too many things
for my time is too short. I can't
fixate on the rain, or that door
knocker, the limb on that tree
or the hem of that garment.
I probably can't go anywhere
that I've never not been already,
but I don't thin about that either.
I can't fixate on sound or matter,
certainly not song or dance.
It's all too uncertain now, and
all I get are light and distance,
and the callings of other time.
