PUT YOU IN THE BARREL
I've put you in the barrel, yes,
but have not yet sealed the top.
For now, I'm still thinking of
where to send you. But how
can one send a memory?

The shadow that crossed the
curtains here, seems stuck in
place : one routine, the same
old thing. Nothing changes;
making me think again of you.

And, damn, if that isn't always
the way. The girl on the side of
the stick-ball court, watching the
game. The girl on the corner, by
Murray's old candy store, smudging
her face, and asking for more.
