DOES ANYONE HAVE
THE SLIGHTEST IDEA?
That sailboat was just climbing up
my vision as I sat here talking to
the girl from Poland. She said she'd
arrived here 10 years ago, which
probably would have made her
about 10 as well. Now she has a
little dog named Gucci. Right here,
where we sit. From all that I can
gather she's OK, at home of sorts
in America, yet fond of Poland still.
She dislikes the types of Americans,
she says - as we watch people enter
the dog park - who demand a harsh
control over their dogs, and worry
about every little thing. The ones
with the military collars and the
straps too tight.' A choking dog,'
she says, 'can't tell you. All it
can do is choke. And those
people don't even look.' In
Poland,' she says, 'we had the
dogs to run free. They lived
their lives with never a vet
vaccine. Now pets are just
business here. It's all so
much, and very sad.'
