11,738. IT'S NOT MELANCHOLY I'M AFTER

IT'S NOT
MELANCHOLY
I'M AFTER
All those pretty little babes at the
Brooklyn Navy Yard, in those 1940's
photos, they walk along in smiles.
And every day, at Wallabout Bay,
they got free milk  -  it was handed
out to the workers in bottles. My
own space gets lost in glimmers
like that. I want to climb down
that ladder and shout.
-
What ladder, you ask? The one
that I climb to look back at the
past that I'm leaving. Please.
No grieving.
