12,566. PARK ME HERE

PARK ME HERE
In the shade of Lamrock Haven,
by the rim of Hadley Gulch. It
is only there I shall receive guests.
I am a stranger in this land.
-
I once knew the man with the gun
shop, there, over there, at the corner
of Birch and Main. Nice guy; named
Frank, as I recall. He died in 2016.
-
His son had been drafted by the
Cincinatti Reds; and he went to
Spring Training too  -  outfield,
a good arm, strong at bat; but they
finally cut him saying he wasn't
quite up to size. He had gotten,
however thirty-six thousand dollars
just for the signing. Good stuff.
-
How do you measure a person
anyway? By hopes and dreams. I
think they're equally as important
as what eventually gets done. Frank
was happy, and so was his son.
