IF YOU DO ONE
THING BLINDINGLY
WELL, THEY'RE JUST
GOING TO WANT
YOU TO DO IT AGAIN
THING BLINDINGLY

We are gatekeepers all, and whatever
it is we are keeping out or letting in
we will before long know the balance
of. The right things cannot be seen far
off, though the wrong things let you
know, it seems. Articulate to a fashion,
like some case of the Midwife Toad we
get things wrong yet move along.

I have married my mind, long, long ago,
and only now to that do I owe any form
of fair allegiance. Had I eloped instead
with Evil, perhaps now I'd have a finer
home - but even those bills come due -
and that's no bargain shown. Thin lights
like these can laser cut a heart.
