3815. THE PIRATES AT FLAME OUT COVE

THE PIRATES AT
FLAME OUT COVE
Never before like this : the pirate ship
rounding the cove and those strange
people waiting near the dunes for the
hand-off  -  exotic, stolen treasures?
Foreign foods and wines? Not for
me to know. There is, to be true, a
war raging in the outside world, but
what would they know of that?
-
A merchant's frigate, to pull up
alongside, flying some distant flag.
Take and plunder? Or just let it
be? Which is better anyway? It
is 1803, and there is really
no law on the sea.
-
Oh so many things are strange
and new to me. The wind rustles
the marsh grass, silently.
