THE MAN WHO
LIKED BAKED POTATOES
He stood straight like an arrow, if it could stand.
He really liked baked potatoes, and sour cream
atop them too. I told him so did I, one of my
favorites. He laughed! He said, 'The favorite
food of restaurants and diners; it costs them
about 3 cents, and another penny to prepare,
and they get us to fork over some three
seventy-five for the privilege.' I said
he was probably right, but that
doesn't beat the air in those
places we breath. They get
that for free, and then
find a way to charge
us for the seat.
