7548. HERETOFORE THE MONUMENT STOOD

HERETOFORE THE
MONUMENT STOOD
It was a lacy concoction of  marble birds
and a steel support. They've taken it away now;
the supports had rotted.  It think it was from the
1930's, to make memory of some workingman's
urge -   the liberation of Labor's spirit, or something
like that. A kind of memorial architecture they never
do any more. We are way too hip for that. We get
our information from on-line magazines.
