13,975. COPYING DINOSAURS FROM PICTURE BOOKS

COPYING DINOSAURS
FROM PICTURE BOOKS
The girl from the Cranepoint Laundry
was looking at me. Her companion
had like 5 teeth in his mouth.
-
In the fish tank atop the divider,
the one dead fish floated like a
piece of 'Limpberger' cheese,
should such exist.
-
Should any exist? Even this fish
and these people? You can wipe
'toxic' from the chalk of the cheeks,
face or ass, but it's always there.
-
Disney will give you a season of
Sundance for a dollar ninety-nine.
The words on the TV screen tell
me that; about 'streaming,' or
whatever that is. A small, animated
girl named Ariel? As in The Tempest,
by Shakespeare too?
-
I don't ever know. It's all just so
rotten. Do kids today know 'Dino?'
Or  -  like Ariel  -  is that too a
thing out of a now-distant past?
Anyway, what's supposed to last,
and what's so great about that?
