WHEN THE DIRIGIBLE 

WENT FLAT

We were already down on the road

at the time it blew. We saw the shards

flying, and  -  of course  -  the first

thought was 'Where are the people

going to land?' We didn't mean 'land.'

We meant: 'Where are the bodies going 

to come smashing down?'

There was an awesome noise, like a

gas escaping but it had turned to flame

and already, in 10 seconds flat, the

thing was drawling down as to hit

the ground. A crew of 3, and maybe

8 others?

We never saw any of that, nor was

anyone blown clear, to land, or to

splat. The whole bladder came down

in one piece, smacking the horrid

ground in a horror. No one inside

survived.
