OVER THE UNDERLINE
'Please sign over the underline' yeah, OK.
What a dumb way to put it, I thought to
myself. The same as 'please go down to
the up escalator to go upstairs.' The craziest
mix-up of words I ever heard - but it's true,
or it works, or, and least, the mind of the
hearer doesn't fry itself and short circuit.
Imagine if it did : a real bunch of frazzled
people milling around, with little to do
and with less to say.
