7316. I BOUGHT MY LOVE A FLOWER

I BOUGHT MY
LOVE A FLOWER
Just out for a walk in the half-moon night :
thinking the thoughts of the dark; cars traveled
by me, and I watched the people exit their train.
-
The blond girl who always walks with such dignity,
alongside that guy who can't ever wait to smoke.
I think he lights up before his feet have even left
the train, let along touched the platform. Yes,
then, I am the one who watches.
-
I entered the Hall of Salvation; and so quickly
did I realize they meant Hall of Starvation.
The half-moon sky fed my decided appetite
for Love in a whole new place; so
I bought my love a flower.
to bring home with me.
