'WHEN THIS MAN WAS A NUN'
I never appreciated any of that, nor
understood. He said if girls could be
Boy Scouts, why not he a nun? I, on
the other hand, said 'Why that at all?
What for.' Where's the fun?' So we
disagreed, like two kids arguing
over an Oreo cookie, the 'creme'
or the chocolate.
-
I later told him to get a grip. 'Have
you ever really looked at a nun?'
I asked. After all, in the long run,
what sense does a cloistered life
make? You're in the mix from
which you must create, not just
retreat. My hands are already
filled enough with God.
