I CAUGHT THAT FEVER
I caught that fever, the one from
Nairobi, and my forehead was
blistered for days. All of June and
most all of July. I thought I would
die. Each time I even thought of
moving, my arms and legs felt like
two-ton bricks, and I was saddled,
as if in concrete and steel. Little
to do but just imagine. The School
For Harmless People - again only
trying to do good - sent over a
wedding planner with lunch, but
I (at least) managed to turn
him away. I felt that fever
was here to stay.
