9746. I NEVER HEARD THE SUDAN

I NEVER HEARD THE SUDAN
And I never read African writers either,
even though lately there's a whole continent
of them. Paul Bowles it ain't. J. California
Cooper; same. Those Whispering Carolina 
pines, I'd rather have them above my head
than any other cousin. Struggle's not about
what I'm about, and I don't care 'bout sex
or ideology none. That goes in the wayside
trashcan with all yesterday's old ideas.
