OFF THE CUFF
I've read all those 'Great Books' which were
piled in the hall, and now there's nothing to
do. Knowing I've a moment before the lobby
closes, I'll tell you this : Nothing special
about Aristotle and who did he think he
was? Knowing Shakespeare like I do, I
had more than a passing interest in his
sandals. My favorite modern among the
moderns was John Dos Passos for sure.

Emily Dickinson was a freaked-out prude,
and in the annals of medicine William Carlos
William left not a mark. Doctors writing
prescriptions, well, that I can see. But all
this Paterson' stuff, whooey!
