I WOKE UP
I woke up to a share, a cup of coffee to my
face, a lantern holding forth the light, the
sweetness of a tingle on my fingers. It was
all so confusing, I'd forgotten even the day.

Then I remembered I wasn't here. There was
no place in place. I readjusted the clock
until it fell off the wall - noticing that,
when time flies, it only flies downward until
it hits the floor. It becomes a rubble, with
the mainspring still exerting its forward
pressure. I think that's how we finally get
to Heaven : by pushing the hands ahead.
