304. THE CAME THE HORDE

THEN CAME THE HORDE
Then came the horde in the year of our lord,
and all the swans went to Geegle-La-Gesa.
'Boys will be boys' was the only thing said.
Gasoline was poured out and lit - the new
flames sparked light for a hundred feet.
Startlingly rapid, the fire followed itself
sunningly; twisting and turning like rope.
Wherever it went, fire and heat, fire and heat -
and that rippled, blurred vision only hot air
brings. The world was suddenly quite flexible,
as seen through a new and different lens.
