ASCRIBING THE MIRACULOUS
Leaning too far or falling too
fast - both become versions
of trying too hard. Like the
philosopher said : 'Death on
a soda cracker.' Except that
was never explained, so if it
has any meaning it was lost
on me.
-
I once took a swim in Booth Bay
Harbor. Wherever I was headed,
I was already there. My bathing
suit ballooned out, like those
baggy old ones used to do, while
over by the horizon, someone's
sailboat itself had its sails
ballooning and I felt as one
with the world.
