13,400. NEVER KNOWN

NEVER KNOWN
I never know why certain people
laugh at bad news or take glee
from the misfortune of others.
Fortunate thing, that?  The wiry
dingbat of assignation, maybe,
meets in the middle of mayhem
and manner.

This hat is taller than that tree.
That relativity. From where I
stand now looking. The stars
are high-aligned and way above
my head, but I don't see them
for it's daylight now.
-
Candy wrappers thrown by kids
on a downtown street : They tumble
in the wind, going where they may.
Children, your misfortune makes
my day. Kit Kat Bar, Pay Day,
Milky Way. OK?
