865. ART LANSING

ART LANSING
I was there a while, and then I left
and another while, by Detroit, I ran
into Nathan. Nothing decisive either
way, just more of the same. The February
storms kept brewing - out over one lake
and back in on another. They took it all in
stride and no one thought twice. The dark,
red old bricks of the ancient brewery
building - all burned now - with its
blackened timbers still standing and
those bricks re-baked a darker red
towards black, stayed put. Trying to
find the NuLand Art Museum, I
at first thought that may have been
it - but it wasn't - though it
could have been; great
conceptual show, all
about burned-out
offerings and new
things to the
old Gods.
