TOKEN GOLD
Up along the old highway the
tall trees were swaying with
what seemed like a boastful
urge to outdo the wind. 'One
of them falling on our car
would really do us in.' There
are moments when passengers
are no fun. 'You create your
own reality, I've heard, so
watch what you say...at least
when I'm around, OK?'

'Haven't you ever figured that
at any moment we could cream
a deer or get broadsided by a
runaway truck?' - Those were
my replies; but as luck would
have it, the very next turn was
ours to leave this road and
head on to home.
