GRESHAM'S LAW II
(Music Again)
It's a certain sadness that breaks the heart -
all that motion and nothing more.
We too are broken - like the modal
tenant when the metronome's click
breaks the silence of his urban night.
All that feeling and sadness and sorrow.
All the world's poor and all the world's
hungry, huddled together in a great
big room. 'To shatter the silence,' it's
been said, 'music can't come too soon.'
