I didn't know how to spell it, nor
even how to play - was never a
card guy. These days, it doesn't
matter anyway.

Vaguely, things get slowly remembered:
Like my Mother, always going on,
as I recall, about a 'card table. 'Get the
card table out...' Sometimes someone
ate on it, if there was a crowd, or
with relatives visiting.

Dining on he card table was dicey.
(Hey! There's a sort of connection?).
It was always wobbly, or wobbly
enough, and one needed always
to be careful. But what do kids
know? Fast feet, a swift move,
and something always got
knocked over.
