437. PLEIN-AIR AT PRINCETON

PLEIN-AIR AT PRINCETON
Those fellows were watching the sloop Regatta,
scullery-maidens or ladies in waiting. Girls hovered
like wispy angels - sheer blouses and faces to match.
Long-eyed maidens, blue, like the eggs of a robin.
An outside festive air reflexive of open sky:
someone from the far north, another from the Orient.
We placed our marbles on the concrete slab - all
of them and everything. A long-truck-trailer was
loading up the boats. Small talk was
the order of the day.
